Why should you certify a product with us?  We always seek a solution of finding a way economically most suitable for the purpose of assessing conformity of a product with given requirements. For the purposes of assessing we do our best to find an optimum method – by testing in a laboratory, by imitating conditions of use, or by verification through theoretical calculations or by combining the said methods unless standards or regulations specify a particular method. Costs are always assessed from the point of complex costs for a particular customer, we take into account the costs of creating test samples, transportation costs, travel expenses of an inspector and last but not least the time factor. As an organisation pursuing its businesses in dozens of countries worldwide we offer our services globally.

Assessing compliance with standard:  Product certification, should it be recognised internationally, is based on the condition that the product to be assessed should meet requirements specified and adopted in advance, specified as a rule in standards or other technical documents with which this product is to be in conformity. Assessment of conformity, which applies to a certain product, procedure or service, which is covered by the same standards, is comprehended as a certification of conformity with a standard. Requirements are determined to respect the standard which may be, under certain conditions, completed with requirements of particular parties, namely under the condition that they will be documented and published in a specified way.
Legislative requirements:  Putting products on the market is associated with a number of administrative duties on the part of manufacturers and importers. Legal regulations specify these duties. Each and every manufacturer is obliged to put on the market only such products which are safe. A safe product is the product which meets the requirements arising from a special legal regulation adopting the law of European Communities and specifying requirements concerning product safety or risk reduction in connection with the product during its use.
EC Declaration of Conformity and CE Marking:  Prior to the putting of a particular product on the market the EC declaration of conformity must be issued and the product must be provided with the CE marking. The manufacturer issues the EC declaration of conformity after successfully assessing the conformity of the product with requirements arising from technical regulations.
Industrial Branches and their Products

Construction:  Building products are considered by their manufacturer or importer as products to be permanently integrated into buildings as long as their properties may have effect on at least one of the basic requirements for constructions, permanent integration into a construction is such an integration when the removal or replacement of the products permanently changes properties of the construction. 
Typical products in the building industry: 
- cement, lime, plaster of Paris 
- steel structural shapes, metal sheets 
- structural products of solid and glued lamella wood 
- windows, roof windows, doors and gates

Machine industry:  The machine industry is a rather widespread and varied industry; this industry comprises especially machines and equipment, equipment generating and using mechanical power with the exception of aircraft, cars and stroke engines, agricultural and forestry machinery, machine tools and other special equipment.

Organic certification is a certification process for producers of organic food and other organic agricultural products. In general, any business directly involved in food production can be certified, including seed suppliers, farmers, food processors, retailers and restaurants. A lesser known counterpart is certification for organic textiles (or Organic clothing) that includes certification of textile products made from organically grown fibres.

Requirements vary from country to country (List of countries with organic agriculture regulation), and generally involve a set of production standards for growing, storage, processing, packaging and shipping that include:

• avoidance of synthetic chemical inputs (e.g. fertilizer, pesticides, antibiotics, food additives), irradiation, and the use of sewage sludge;^[1]
• avoidance of genetically modified seed;
• use of farmland that has been free from prohibited chemical inputs for a number of years (often, three or more);
• for livestock, adhering to specific requirements for feed, housing, and breeding;
• keeping detailed written production and sales records (audit trail);
• maintaining strict physical separation of organic products from non-certified products;
• undergoing periodic on-site inspections.

In some countries, certification is overseen by the government, and commercial use of the term organic is legally restricted. Certified organic producers are also subject to the same agricultural, food safety and other government regulations that apply to non-certified producers.

Certified organic foods are not necessarily pesticide-free, as certain pesticides are allowed.^[2]

DS GAZPROMSERT was developed and implemented by the open joint stock company Gazprom (order No.10 on February 6, 1999). This certification system was developed and registered (No. RU.3022.04 O00 on 17.07.2000) in accordance with the law of the Russian Federation “On the certification of products and services.”

The GAZPROMSERT system of voluntary certification was created to allow voluntarily conformity assessment in the form of voluntary certification:

• Products and management systems of subsidiaries and organizations which are entities of Gazprom;

• Services rendered and products supplied by other companies to Gazprom, OJSC;

• Management quality systems in companies which render services and supply products to Gazprom.

The main objectives of voluntary certification in SDS GAZPROMSERT:

• To verify the conformity of products, management systems and services to standards as defined in the GAZPROMSERT system;

• To assist purchasers select the correct products and services;

• To improve the competitiveness of products and services of companies which are entities of Gazprom.

The main principles of GAZPROMSERT voluntary certification

• Openness of information on regulations on voluntary certification;

• A clear set of forms and certification schemes in the GAZPROMSERT system;

• Agreement with the applicant about the timing of the voluntary certification;

• Lack of compulsion to obtain voluntary certification in the GAZPROMSERT system;

• Protects the interests of the applicant (including property);

• Ensures compliance with trade secrets of information that was obtained during voluntary certification. 

SERCONS is an accredited product certification body in the GAZPROMSERT system – a certificate of recognition of the competence of the body for certification with the registration number 00.RU.1135.

Verification of conformity of products to the GAZPROMSERT system takes the form of voluntary certification.

For certification in the GAZPROMSERT system the product performance is verified and test measurement methods are used that enable to:

• Identify the product (its belonging to a particular group, origin, etc.);

• Verify the conformity of the products to requirements, established by the standards of the GAZPROMSERT system, as well as other requirements under normal operating conditions in the gas industry, storage, transportation and disposal, which must be tested during certification.

When certifying products under GAZPROMSERT different certification schemes are applied that take into account production features, testing, delivery and the operation of specific products, as well as the required level of proof of certification.

Pressure equipment: The industrial branch of pressure equipment comprises a wide range of products. Pressure equipment is generally characterised as a vessel which is a body designed and manufactured in a way to be filled with a certain medium under pressure, including the parts which are directly attached to it and which reach as far as the point of connection with other pressure equipment. Another major representative of the pressure equipment is piping transporting liquids as long as the pipes are mutually interconnected in a way forming one pressure system, next they comprise such elements connected to parts exposed to pressure such as flanges, branches, couplings, supports and others.

Toy industry products Prior to putting a toy on the market, the manufacture must perform a certain procedure assessing conformity in accordance with the decree of the national regulations, in order to prove that the toy meets basic requirements. The basic requirements applying to toys say that no toys or chemical substances or mixtures contained in them may endanger the safety or health of their users or third parties that use them in a specified way or in a way foreseeable with respect to the usual behaviour of children, and at the same time the abilities of the user or his/her supervisors are taken into account, especially as regards toys earmarked for children of less than 36 months of age or for other exactly specified age groups.

EN ISO 3834:2005 – Certification of welding processes: Welding is classified as a special process whose results cannot always be verified by testing after the welding process is terminated. The weld quality must therefore be ensured in the course of the manufacturing process, not through inspections and tests of the finished product but through a sufficient control of welding processes. This control may be done in accordance with the standard EN ISO 3834:2005, which ensures the quality of welds of the final product which then meets the specified and required criteria. This standard forms a background document for the purposes of proving the conformation and certification of products manufactured through the welding process. A certified manufacturer proves the fulfilment of all the principles of the standard – the carrying out of the high-quality welding process within the requirements of product standards or other regulations.
EN ISO 22716:2007 – Good manufacturing practice (SVP): This standard is specified for cosmetic industry while taking into account the characteristic needs of this industry. It puts forward organisational and practical advices of how to control human resources, technical and administrative elements having effect on a product quality. The good manufacturing practice (SVP) provides methodical instructions concerning production, inspection, storage and transport of cosmetic products, and puts forward the practical development of the quality management system by describing the activities of the manufacturing plant which are based on valid scientific knowledge and on risk assessment. The task of the good manufacturing practice (SVP) is to define the activities owing to which it is possible to get the product that meets the required properties.

Extreme weather, rising temperatures and greenhouse gas emissions are all aspects of our changing climate that can impact businesses. They can also create opportunities. A recent report by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) showed that a group of the world’s largest companies, worth collectively nearly USD 17 trillion, have valued the cost of climate change risks to their business at almost USD 1 trillion. On the flip side, they valued potential gains from business opportunities at more than double.1)

Therefore, having robust plans in place to adapt to climate change is key to business success.

ISO 14090, Adaptation to climate change — Principles, requirements and guidelines, is the first in a range of ISO standards in this area and aims to help organizations assess climate change impacts and put plans in place for effective adaptation. It helps them identify and manage risks, as well as seize any opportunities that climate change may bring.

It offers a framework that enables organizations to give appropriate consideration to climate change adaptation when designing and implementing policies, strategies, plans and activities.

John Dora, Co-Convenor of the working group that developed the standard, said climate change impacts such as unexpected weather and temperature changes can have a significant effect on an organization’s bottom line if they are not prepared for it, causing infrastructure damage or disruption to their business: “Understanding climate impacts is not just for those implementing climate actions. Organizational decisions are made on the basis of risks and opportunities, so understanding resilience is useful across the value chain such as in purchasing, investment and insurance.”

Fellow Co-Convenor Liang Sun added: “ISO 14090 will enable organizations to assess and prepare for climate impacts and make them more resilient. It will also help them spot potential opportunities for maximizing the use of resources or new sources of revenue.”

The new ISO standard is useful for all kinds of organizations, regardless of whether they have adaptation plans in place. Implementation also enables users to directly contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal on climate action (SDG 13).

ISO 14090 was developed by working group 9 of ISO technical committee ISO/TC 207, Environmental management, subcommittee 7, Greenhouse gas management and related activities, the secretariat of which is held jointly by SAC, ISO’s member for China and SCC, ISO’s member for Canada.

It is intended to be the overarching standard for adaptation to climate change, and the committee is also working on other standards that will provide further guidance. These include ISO 14091, Adaptation to climate change — Vulnerability, impacts and risk assessment and ISO 14092, GHG Management and related activities: requirement and guidance of adaptation planning for organizations including local governments and communities.

This document specifies general safety requirements and test methods for indoor stationary training equipment. Other parts of the ISO 20957 series can modify the requirements contained in this document. This document also covers environmental aspects.

It also specifies a classification system (see Clause 4).

This document is applicable to all stationary training equipment. This includes equipment for use in training areas of organizations such as sport associations, educational establishments, hotels, sport halls, clubs, rehabilitation centres and studios (classes S and I) where access and control is specifically regulated by the owner (person who has the legal responsibility), equipment for domestic use (class H) and other types of equipment including motor driven equipment as defined in 3.1.

ISO 10006:2003, Quality management systems - Guidelines for quality management in projects, is an international standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization.

ISO 10006:2003 gives guidance on the application of quality management in projects.

It is applicable to projects of varying complexity, small or large, of short or long duration, in different environments, and irrespective of the kind of product or process involved. This can necessitate some tailoring of the guidance to suit a particular project.

ISO 10006:2003 is not a guide to "project management" itself. Guidance on quality in project management processes is discussed in this International Standard. Guidance on quality in a project''s product-related processes, and on the "process approach", is covered in ISO 9004. A new "Project Management - Guide to project Management" ISO 21500has been published in September 2012.

Since ISO 10006:2003 is a guidance document, it is not intended to be used for certification/registration purposes.

SO 10006, Quality management — Guidelines to quality in project management, claims to provide "guidance on quality system elements, concepts and practices for which the implementation is important to, and has an impact on, the achievement of quality in project management." In our opinion, application of this document is more likely to have the opposite effect: if attention is given to the items identified in the standard at the expense of others critical to project management, the result could very well be a poorly managed and unnecessarily costly project that is compliant with the standard.

Strong words, perhaps, but let us look at some of guidance the standard provides, and you can draw your own conclusion.

First of all, ISO 10006 does seem to cover the right subjects — scope, cost, time, risk, and so on. In fact, it identifies virtually the same set of project management processes and knowledge areas as A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge. Not much of a surprise since the ISO committee used a draft of that document as a key input during the development of their document. There are, however, some notable omissions:

• There are no quality management processes. By failing to include the quality management processes, ISO 10006 implies that these critical processes are outside the scope of project management. How does one ensure quality without quality management?

   

• There is no project execution process. Lots of planning processes, lots of controlling processes, but no place to actually do the work of the project. This omission regrettably reinforces the notion that project management is limited to planning and controlling.

   

• ISO 10006 limits its discussion of scope to developing "a description of the project product." In doing so, it minimizes the importance of project scope, of defining the work of the project. Hardly a recipe for quality in project management.

Second, the document says that it is "not a guide to project management itself," yet the level of detail provided and the phraseology used in most clauses and subclauses runs counter to this stated intent. There is much use of prescriptive terms such as "action should be taken," decisions should be "formally documented," "special attention should be given to," or "particular attention should be given to." This language creates a false impression of priorities for successful project management and raises the risk of misuse of the standard.

• For many organizations within the oil and gas supply chain, certification to this standard is necessary to secure valuable contracts and gain competitive advantage.

• Certification proves commitment to industry best practice and enables to stand out above the crowd.

• The standard has been designed to be compatible with other existing management systems standards making integration of your systems easier.

• Third-party certification to this technical standard will help to reduce multiple supplier audits and any associated costs.

• Based as it is on ISO 9001, certification also makes it easier to measure performance and better manage business risk.

• The assessment focuses on operating processes, which encourages to improve the quality of products and service and helps to reduce waste, rejections and customer complaints.

• Like ISO 9001, this requirement scheme ensures that employee/s feel more involved through improved communication. Continued assessment visits can highlight any problems and uncover any issues that may be present.

The licence number (a seven digit number, represented as cm/l- is also given with the standard mark. This helps in identifying the particular manufacturer/licensee, which has manufactured the product. E.g., Studds Accessories Ltd. one of the licensees for manufacturing protective helmets has been allotted the licence no. Cm/l-9169691. This number is displayed along with the standard mark on all helmets manufactured by it. Thus a Studds helmet would bear the mark.

The Bureau of Indian Standards has hosted the complete BIS directory of licensees on its from which any consumer can directly download the list of licensees for the manufacture of protective helmets for motorcycle riders.

Chin Strap: The clause (b) of the explanation to section 129 MVA''88 stipulates that the protective headgear should be securely fastened to the head of the wearer by means of straps or other fastenings provided on the headgear. The wearer of an improperly fastened helmet can be punished for driving/pillion-riding without helmet. This provision of law can be used by enforcement agencies to check the practice of drivers of two-wheelers (especially teenaged ones) to leave their helmets unstrapped or loosely strapped.

News about mandatory to comply ISI Marked helmets in India

MUMBAI: Harley Davidson owners have appealed to the Mumbai traffic police to recognize helmets with American Department of Transportation (DOT) and Australian certification logos.

Last month, Mumbai police commissioner Arup Patnaik had instructed the traffic department to fine all bikers wearing helmets without the ISI certification mark. Police booked hundreds, including owners of foreign bikes who wear helmets certified by Australian, Italian and American authorities. "The purpose of the police commissioner''s directive was to send a strong message to those using cheap plastic helmets . But the cops carrying out the order have failed to understand that helmets certified by the DOT are among the safest in the world," said Debashish Ghosh, owner of a Harley Davidson bike.

1. Introduction
As it says in the German, Man ist was man isst! Man is what man eats. The word kosher is familiar and, at the same time, foreign. One may think of strict rules and religious regulations.
In Hebrew, “Kashrus,” from the root kosher (or “kasher”), means suitable and/or “pure”, thus ensuring fitness for consumption.
The laws of “Kashrus” include a comprehensive legislation concerning permitted and forbidden foods. There are several aspects to these dietary rules. We will consider each aspect in turn.
2.1 Meat and its derivatives
Kosher meat must comply with certain rules.

Kosher Species of Animals:

According to the laws of the Torah, the only types of meat that may be eaten are cattle and game that have “cloven hooves” and “chew the cud.” If an animal species fulfills only one of these conditions (for example the pig, which has split hooves but does not chew the cud, or the camel, which chews the cud, but does not have split hooves), then its meat may not be eaten.
Examples of kosher animals in this category are bulls, cows, sheep, lambs, goats, veal, and springbok.
According to the laws of the Torah, to be eaten, a kosher species must be slaughtered by a "Schochet," a ritual slaughterer. Since Jewish Law prohibits causing any pain to animals, the slaughtering has to be effected in such a way that unconsciousness is instantaneous and death occurs almost instantaneously.

Kashering (Removing the blood) & removing the veins and skin (‘Porschen’ or ‘Nikkur’):

After the animal is slaughtered, the Kosher Supervisor and his team treiber the carcass by removing certain forbidden fats and veins. After the meat has been treibered, it is soaked in a bath in room temperature water for a half hour. To draw out the blood, the soaked meat is then placed on special salting tables where it is salted with coarse salt on both sides for one hour

ISO 52000-1:2017 establishes a systematic, comprehensive and modular structure for assessing the energy performance of new and existing buildings (EPB) in a holistic way.

It is applicable to the assessment of overall energy use of a building, by measurement or calculation, and the calculation of energy performance in terms of primary energy or other energy-related metrics. It takes into account the specific possibilities and limitations for the different applications, such as building design, new buildings 'as built', and existing buildings in the use phase as well as renovation.

NOTE Table 1 in the Introduction shows the relative position of ISO 52000-1:2017 within the set of EPB standards in the context of the modular structure as set out in ISO 52000-1:2017.

The Standard is published in three parts:

• ISO 14064-1:2006 specifies principles and requirements at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals. It includes requirements for the design, development, management, reporting and verification of an organization''''''''s GHG inventory.
• ISO 14064-2:2006 specifies principles and requirements and provides guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring and reporting of activities intended to cause greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions or removal enhancements. It includes requirements for planning a GHG project, identifying and selecting GHG sources, sinks and reservoirs relevant to the project and baseline scenario, monitoring, quantifying, documenting and reporting GHG project performance and managing data quality.
• ISO 14064-3:2006 specifies principles and requirements and provides guidance for those conducting or managing the validation and/or verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) assertions. It can be applied to organizational or GHG project quantification, including GHG quantification, monitoring and reporting carried out in accordance with ISO 14064-1 or ISO 14064-2.

ISO 14064-3:2006 specifies requirements for selecting GHG validators/verifiers, establishing the level of assurance, objectives, criteria and scope, determining the validation/verification approach, assessing GHG data, information, information systems and controls, evaluating GHG assertions and preparing validation/verification statements.

Information from 18.04.2011: in accordance to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation,it defines a new list of products that shall be subject to mandatory certification, and the products, which compliance is held in the form of a Declaration. For the products, not specified elsewhere in these lists, certification and Declaration is a voluntary exercise.

AS 9100 is a widely adopted and standardized Quality Management system for the aerospace industry. It was released in October, 1999, by the Society of Automotive Engineers and the European Association of Aerospace Industries.

AS 9100 replaces the earlier AS 9000 and fully incorporates the entirety of the current version of ISO 9000, while adding requirements relating to quality and safety. Major aerospace manufacturers and suppliers worldwide require compliance and/or registration to AS 9100 as a condition of doing business with them.

ISO 18788:2015 provides a framework for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving the management of security operations.

It provides the principles and requirements for a security operations management system (SOMS). ISO 18788:2015 provides a business and risk management framework for organizations conducting or contracting security operations and related activities and functions while demonstrating:

a) conduct of professional security operations to meet the requirements of clients and other stakeholders;

b) accountability to law and respect for human rights;

c) consistency with voluntary commitments to which it subscribes.

ISO 18788:2015 is applicable to any organization that needs to:

a) establish, implement, maintain and improve an SOMS;

b) assess its conformity with its stated security operations management policy;

c) demonstrate its ability to consistently provide services that meet client needs and are in conformance with applicable laws and human rights requirements.

ISO 22301:2012 specifies requirements to plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain, and continually improve a documented management system to protect against, reduce the likelihood of occurrence, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive incidents when they arise.

The requirements specified in ISO 22301:2012 are generic and intended to be applicable to all organizations, or parts thereof, regardless of type, size, and nature of the organization. The extent of application of these requirements depends on the organization''s operating environment and complexity.
